The White Birch dial is the Grand Seiko piece I get asked about most, and measuring it up close is different from seeing it in photos — the bark-like texture catches light unevenly on purpose, which is harder to execute well than a flat sunburst finish. 40mm in steel with 100m of water resistance is the sensible, wearable size for the Evolution 9 case, and the Hi-Beat manufacture movement inside is the same accuracy tier as watches costing considerably more elsewhere. No GMT, no chronograph, nothing distracting from the dial. On my scoring, this is where dial craft alone carries the reference.
