Red gold changes the reading of this Seamaster more than white gold does: ref. 52253402004003 keeps the 39.5mm proportions and the white dial, but the warmer alloy shifts the case from 'formal metal' to something with more visual weight on the wrist, paired here with a brown leather strap instead of black. Water resistance sits at 60m, unchanged from the rest of the Jeux Olympiques family, so again the gold is a statement about material and colour, not capability. On my dial-legibility axis a white dial under warm gold actually scores slightly better for contrast than the same dial under white gold or platinum — a small detail, but exactly the kind 35 axes are built to catch.
