Omega attaches Olympic editions to watches that already earn their keep mechanically, and the Chronoscope is a fitting choice — a pulsometer-and-tachymeter chronograph is exactly the instrument a stopwatch-obsessed sporting event calls for. Ref. 522.30.43.51.02.001 is the steel version with a silver dial, still 43mm, still the manufacture hand-wound caliber, still 50m of water resistance — the Paris 2024 branding sits on top of an unchanged, already-solid base rather than replacing it with something lesser. That's the detail I check first on any limited edition: does the underlying watch justify itself without the story. Here it does, which is more than I can say for most sporting tie-ins in my catalogue.
