The '57 case shrinks the Speedmaster down to 40.5mm and drops the chronograph pushers' visual weight in favor of a simpler date-only dial, which reads more like a vintage-proportioned sport watch than a tool chronograph. Caliber 9906 is still hand-wound, still Co-Axial, but it's a simpler architecture than the column-wheel calibers running the chronograph references — appropriate, since there's no chronograph function here to drive. Fifty meters of water resistance, standard for the manual range. On proportions, this is one of the better-balanced Speedmasters I've catalogued for a smaller wrist, precisely because Omega resisted the urge to just shrink a chronograph dial into a smaller case.
