The Monarch is Tudor moving deliberately away from the dive-tool identity that defines most of what I catalogue from this brand — 39mm steel case, integrated steel bracelet, champagne dial, and 100m of water resistance that reads as a formality rather than a headline spec here. It sits in dress-watch territory Tudor has largely left to others until now. The integrated bracelet is the detail worth watching: it's a harder engineering problem than a strap-and-lugs case, and the fit reads more finished than I expected from a first serious attempt at the format. On my axes it scores well on proportions and wrist fit, more moderately on brand-fit given how far it sits from Tudor's usual identity.
