The iconic Day-Date 40, a classic manifesto of sophistication and style. Featuring a distinguished dial and the signature fluted bezel, it embodies timeless elegance for formal occasions.
This 228235-0055 is the more common Day-Date size in my experience cataloguing them — 40mm instead of 36mm, rose gold, white dial, $47,500, still 100m rated on the same Oyster case as every Datejust and Submariner I've measured. The extra 4mm changes the wrist presence axis more than you'd expect: it reads as a proper daily watch rather than a dress-only piece. At roughly a fifth less than the diamond-dial 36mm version, it's the Day-Date I'd rate highest for value within the collection, even though value is an odd word to use at this price.
