Momiji, autumn maple, gives this one the red dial — the boldest color in Grand Seiko's Elegance GMT lineup, and on my scoring sheet red dials score higher on distinctiveness but lower on versatility than the blues and greens in the same case family. 39.5mm steel, 30m of water resistance, Hi-Beat manufacture movement with an independently-set GMT hand — the same solid dress-GMT package as its seasonal siblings, just louder. This is the one I'd recommend to someone who already owns a blue-dial GMT and wants the second watch in the drawer to look different, not just be different.
